Governor Maggie Hassan checks out Froling Energy at NH Energy Summit

The Froling Energy team had a very interesting morning at the NH Energy Summit listening to speakers with a variety of backgrounds in energy—from propane and natural gas to wind power and electric companies. Governor Maggie Hassan was most eloquent in her support for all fuels, especially those that originate here in New Hampshire. We were very happy that she came by our table to see what Froling Energy has been up to. I was lucky to have NH House Rep David Borden sit next to me. He is co-author for the 10 Year Energy Strategy for New Hampshire which looks to…

Froling Energy introduces a new renewable fuel to New England

It’s hard to think about winter during these late-summer days, but preparations for another heating season are already underway at Froling Energy. For the last six years, my company has been successfully installing wood pellet boilers in residential, commercial and industrial buildings. This year we decided to add a new division to the company: making and delivering a new kind of biomass fuel that will reduce heating costs for our larger commercial customers. During the last 30 years, Europeans have had much higher energy costs than Americans and, as a result, manufacturers there have led the way in high-efficiency wood combustion…

Get our new “HEAT LOCAL” Bumper Sticker

Everyone wants to EAT LOCAL these days, so why not get your home’s heating fuel locally too?  Heat Local means using the fuels that are local to New England: WOOD and WOOD PELLETS! Make a statement about originating all your heating fuels from New England–or wherever you live!  Keeping your energy dollars in your region is important to our local economies.  Stats show that 95% of the money you spend on wood pellets stays local while as little as 22% of what you spend on oil or propane stays local. That’s why we say… HEAT LOCAL! To get your Free Bumper…

See the Town House Pellet Boilers in action at Greenerborough

Froling Energy is proud to be a Silver Sponsor of Greenerborough during the upcoming Saturday, May 3rd festivities. Once again Mark and I will be down in the Peterborough Town House’s basement (pellet) boiler room giving tours and answering questions. Pellet Boiler Room Tours begin at 10 and end at 4. If it is cool and wet outside this will be the warmest place in town! But we are hoping for lots of sunshine for this wonderful local event. Plus, make sure to stop by and pick up one of our new HEAT LOCAL bumper stickers!

The NHPUC Commercial Pellet Boiler Rebate Program CONTINUES!

Just two short months ago, in late December 2013, the NHPUC opened up a Rebate Program that significantly contributes towards the cost of Commercial Pellet Boiler installations. The contribution amount is 30% of the project cost, up to $50,000 maximum. As of this writing nearly 85% of the original funds are gone—or more correctly, reserved for projects. This is a Great Success for the NHPUC! My calculations show that this means over $1.8 Million worth of pellet boiler installations will be occurring in New Hampshire as a direct result of the NHPUC’s financial encouragement. The projects include pellet boiler retrofits in…

Biomass & Solar Thermal Open House for Facilities Managers & Design Professionals

Froling Energy is participating in an Open House in a pellet boiler client’s building next week. If you are a Facilities Manager, Engineer or Architect, we would like for you to stop by at 3PM on February 27th in Stratham at the New Hampshire SPCA. We will start with a short presentation about the systems that were retrofitted to the building: 3 wood pellet boilers by Froling Energy and a large solar thermal array by ReVision Energy of Exeter. Then the tours will begin, lasting until 4:30 or so. It is always great to see systems in action—so hope for…
