Froling Energy has installed wood pellet boiler systems in in a few different churches where the congregation wanted to eliminate as much fossil fuel use as they could—a worthwhile goal.

As with any existing structure, each offers a different range of challenges to a conversion to wood pellets. A common challenge that many churches have is needing to heat older, often historic buildings that are difficult or impossible to bring up to today’s energy efficiency standards. Insulation is often limited and infiltration difficult to bring into range which create a need for high temperature hot water heat.

Boilers usually fit into existing boiler rooms and so far, all pellet storage silos have been indoors in the basement. If you have steam heat, that presents a new range of issues.  The best approach is to request that we do an analysis of your situation.  Call or write to start a discussion with us.
