The centrally heated complex of 100 to 120-year-old mill buildings owned by Historic Harrisville was eating up over 22,000 gallons of #2 fuel oil each year.
Their two fairly new Buderus boilers were running fine when Froling Energy proposed a pellet boiler system. When Historic Harrisville won a nice grant which helped them with installations expenses, the project went forward.
Three Fröling P4-100 pellet boilers with a total 1.5 million BTU/hour output now does over 90% of the heating. A triple auger interior silo stores over 50 tons of wood pellets. They expect to burn about 160 tons of pellets each winter.
This boiler system generates approximately 560 NH T-RECs per year.
